The Finále Plzeň film festival is a yearly retrospective and competition of Czech feature films and competition overview of documentaries.
Within a week, the festival shows complete feature-length live-action production and a selection of the most interesting documentaries.
What is new this year is that also Slovak films can enter the competition for the main award – the Golden Kingfisher. There is a new section in the programme: the competition of Czech and Slovak TV formats, divided into two categories: drama and comedy.
Traditionally, there are the ZOOM and Industry Days sections, the first one concentrates on the cinematography of a certain European country and the second one has been organised for professional filmmakers.
The whole week of film comprises also retrospectives of important filmmakers, the highlights of Czech cinematography and live discussions with filmmakers.
