Honey Night is an adaptation of a short story by Czech writer and screenwriter Jan Procházka, an Ear. The first adaptation of the same story was a black and white film by Karel Kachyňa, the Ear, made in 1970 and staring Radoslav Brzobohatý and Jiřina Bohdalová. The film was banished right after finishing and it had to wait for its premier till 1990. Similar to Kachyňa’s rendition, Honey Night is an intimate drama, exposing the politics as a place of intrigue, lies and mistrust. This time, the story takes place in 1990s Macedonia, where Nikola Ristanovski and Verica Nedeska argue in a

villa filled with bugs.
